Carpet Cleaning SW18 Service Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of carpet and related cleaning services by Carpet Cleaning SW18 to residential and commercial customers within its service area. By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order for any service.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:
1.1 Client means the person, firm or company requesting the services.
1.2 Company means the carpet cleaning service provider trading as Carpet Cleaning SW18.
1.3 Services means carpet cleaning and any related cleaning or treatment services offered by the Company.
1.4 Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.
1.5 Terms means these Terms and Conditions as amended from time to time.
2. Scope of Services
2.1 The Company provides carpet cleaning and related services within its designated service area, including but not limited to properties in and around the SW18 postcode area.
2.2 The specific Services to be provided will be confirmed at the time of booking based on the Client’s requirements and the information supplied by the Client.
2.3 The Company reserves the right to refuse any booking where the Premises are deemed unsafe, inaccessible, or unsuitable for the provision of the Services.
2.4 The Company does not undertake structural repairs, pest control, or services beyond professional cleaning, stain treatment, and related tasks that form part of the standard service offering.
3. Booking Process
3.1 Bookings may be requested through the Company’s chosen communication channels as made available by the Company from time to time.
3.2 When making a booking, the Client must provide accurate and complete information, including the size and type of areas to be cleaned, the condition of the carpets, access details, and any known stains or issues.
3.3 All bookings are subject to availability and are only confirmed once the Company has issued a booking confirmation. The Company may provide an estimated arrival window rather than a specific time.
3.4 Any quotation provided prior to inspection of the Premises is an estimate only and may be subject to change once the Company has inspected the carpets or areas to be cleaned before or at the time of carrying out the Services.
3.5 The Client must ensure that someone with the authority to grant access is present at the Premises at the agreed time. If the Company is unable to access the Premises, this may be treated as a late cancellation and charges may apply.
4. Prices and Quotations
4.1 Prices for Services will be stated in the quotation or confirmation provided by the Company. All prices are given in pounds sterling and, where applicable, inclusive of any value added tax or other taxes.
4.2 Quotations are based on the information supplied by the Client. If the actual condition, size, or nature of the work differs from that described by the Client, the Company reserves the right to adjust the price accordingly.
4.3 The Company may vary its prices from time to time. Any such variation will not affect confirmed bookings already accepted by the Company, except where the Client requests changes to the scope of Services.
4.4 Promotional offers, discounts, or packages may be offered at the sole discretion of the Company and may be withdrawn or amended at any time.
5. Payments and Charges
5.1 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due on completion of the Services on the day of service.
5.2 The Company accepts the forms of payment notified to the Client at the time of booking. The Client is responsible for ensuring that payment can be made using the chosen method.
5.3 For certain bookings, the Company may require a deposit or partial prepayment to secure the date and time of the appointment. Any such deposit will be applied to the final invoice.
5.4 If payment is not received on completion of the Services, the Company reserves the right to charge interest and administrative fees on overdue amounts, in accordance with applicable law.
5.5 The Client remains liable for all charges for Services provided, including any additional services requested on the day of cleaning that were not included in the original quotation.
6. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Access
6.1 If the Client wishes to cancel or reschedule a booking, the Client must notify the Company as early as reasonably possible.
6.2 The Company may apply a cancellation fee where the Client cancels or reschedules with short notice prior to the appointment time. The applicable notice period and fees will be communicated to the Client at the time of booking or in subsequent updates to these Terms.
6.3 If the Company arrives at the Premises and is unable to gain access, or if the Premises are not in a condition suitable for the Services to be carried out, the Company may treat this as a late cancellation, and a call-out or cancellation charge may be applied.
6.4 The Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking due to circumstances beyond its control, such as extreme weather, staff illness, vehicle breakdown, or safety concerns. In such cases, the Company will seek to offer an alternative appointment at the earliest reasonable opportunity.
6.5 The Client shall ensure that the Premises are prepared for cleaning, including clearing floor areas where reasonably possible, securing pets, and providing clear access to the areas to be cleaned and to water and electricity supplies.
7. Client Obligations
7.1 The Client must provide accurate information regarding the condition of carpets and any known risks, such as loose fittings, prior water damage, or fragile materials.
7.2 The Client is responsible for ensuring that personal belongings, valuables, and breakables are safely stored away from the areas where the Services will be carried out.
7.3 The Client must inform the Company of any areas of particular concern, delicate fibres, or pre-existing damage before the commencement of the Services.
7.4 The Client must not request the Company’s operatives to undertake any work that falls outside agreed Services or which may be unsafe, unlawful, or unsuitable.
8. Service Standards and Limitations
8.1 The Company will provide the Services with reasonable care and skill, in accordance with industry standards for professional carpet cleaning.
8.2 While the Company will use its best efforts to remove stains, odours, and marks, complete removal cannot be guaranteed, and results may vary depending on the age, type, and condition of the carpet and the nature of the stain.
8.3 Certain stains, such as those from dyes, permanent markers, strong chemicals, or long-standing pet accidents, may be permanent, and the Company will not be liable for failure to remove such stains.
8.4 The use of cleaning solutions and machinery is carried out with care, but there is a small risk of wear, shrinkage, colour changes, or pile distortion, especially where carpets are old, poorly fitted, damaged, or have unstable dyes. The Client accepts this risk when booking the Services.
8.5 Drying times quoted by the Company are estimates only and may vary based on carpet type, ventilation, weather conditions, and other factors. The Client must take appropriate care while carpets are drying to prevent slips, trips, or damage.
9. Liability and Insurance
9.1 The Company maintains appropriate insurance for the Services it provides, subject to the terms and exclusions of the relevant policy.
9.2 The Company will not be liable for any pre-existing damage, wear and tear, defects, or conditions that become apparent during or after the provision of the Services.
9.3 The Company’s liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall be limited to the price paid for the specific Service giving rise to the claim, except where such limitation is prohibited by law.
9.4 The Company shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or loss of enjoyment.
9.5 Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude the Company’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be lawfully limited or excluded.
10. Waste Handling and Environmental Regulations
10.1 The Company will handle and dispose of any waste generated in the course of carrying out the Services in accordance with applicable waste and environmental regulations.
10.2 The Client is responsible for the removal and disposal of general household waste, rubbish, or bulky items not directly generated by the Company’s cleaning activities, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
10.3 Any hazardous materials, including but not limited to chemicals, asbestos, biological waste, or sharp objects, must be disclosed by the Client in advance. The Company reserves the right to refuse to handle or remove such materials.
10.4 Where the Company is required to remove waste from the Premises as part of a specific service, this will be carried out in compliance with the applicable duty of care for controlled waste and any local regulatory requirements.
10.5 The Client agrees not to request any unlawful disposal of waste or discharge of cleaning solutions that would breach environmental or regulatory standards.
11. Damage, Complaints and Claims
11.1 Any complaint regarding the Services must be reported to the Company as soon as reasonably practicable, and in any event within a reasonable period after completion of the Services.
11.2 The Client must give the Company a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, rectify any issue. Failure to do so may limit the Company’s ability to investigate or resolve the complaint.
11.3 Where damage is alleged to have been caused by the Company, the Client must provide evidence of the damage and allow access for inspection. The Company will not accept responsibility for damage that is not clearly attributable to its actions.
11.4 Any claim must be made by the Client, and not by a third party, and must be limited in accordance with the liability provisions set out in these Terms.
12. Access, Health and Safety
12.1 The Client must ensure that the Premises are safe and that all health and safety risks are disclosed to the Company prior to the commencement of the Services.
12.2 The Company reserves the right to withdraw its operatives from the Premises if they believe there is a risk to their health or safety, or if they encounter abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour.
12.3 The Client is responsible for supervising children, pets, and any other occupants while the Services are being carried out and for keeping them away from machinery, cables, chemicals, and wet surfaces.
13. Force Majeure
13.1 The Company shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from any cause beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, extreme weather, floods, fires, pandemics, strikes, transport disruptions, or failure of utilities.
13.2 In such circumstances, the Company may suspend or reschedule the Services without liability to the Client, and will seek to resume or rearrange the Services as soon as reasonably practicable.
14. Personal Data and Privacy
14.1 The Company may collect and process personal data relating to the Client in order to provide the Services, manage bookings, handle payments, and communicate with the Client.
14.2 The Company will take reasonable steps to safeguard personal data and will handle such data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
14.3 The Client is responsible for ensuring that any personal information provided to the Company is accurate and up to date.
15. Variation of Terms
15.1 The Company may update or amend these Terms from time to time. The current version of the Terms will apply to any new booking made after the date on which the revised Terms take effect.
15.2 Any changes to the scope of Services or to the agreed price must be confirmed by the Company and accepted by the Client before such changes take effect.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
16.1 These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
16.2 The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or their subject matter.
17. General Provisions
17.1 If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, such provision shall be deemed deleted, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
17.2 No failure or delay by the Company in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms shall constitute a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.
17.3 These Terms, together with any written confirmation or agreement relating to specific Services, constitute the entire agreement between the Client and the Company and supersede any prior understandings or arrangements relating to the subject matter.
By proceeding with a booking and allowing the Company to carry out the Services, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
